DIY Bloom Bucket Tips & Tricks for the Freshest Event Flowers

You've scheduled your event date and have everything planned. Congratulations! The last thing to stress about is your flowers. Traveling with your DIY Bloom Bucket and storing them for your DIY events, like weddings or parties, requires a little planning to ensure the flowers remain fresh and beautiful. Here are some helpful tips:

Traveling with Blessings Grown Meadows Fresh Cut Bloom Buckets

1. Choose the Right Vehicle:

   - Use a vehicle with enough space to securely hold all the bloom buckets without crowding them. A van, SUV, or truck bed can be ideal. Ensure the buckets are stable during the drive to prevent tipping. Your blooms will be securely tucked with wrap in to-go buckets, so you won't need to bring anything.

2. Temperature Control:

   - Keep your vehicle cool. Flowers are sensitive to heat, so try to travel during cooler parts of the day, or if possible, keep the air conditioning on.

   - Avoid leaving the farm fresh lowers in a hot vehicle for extended periods. If stops are necessary, park in the shade and leave windows slightly open for ventilation.

3. Secure the Buckets:

   - Use bungee cords, non-slip mats, or boxes to keep the buckets from shifting during travel.

   - If possible, place a damp towel around the base of each bucket to keep them cool and prevent sliding.

4. Avoid Direct Sunlight:

   - Cover the windows where the buckets are placed to shield them from direct sunlight, which can cause wilting.

Storing Bloom Buckets Before the Event

1. Find a Cool, Dark Place:

   - Store the buckets in a cool, dark area, ideally at 35-45°F. A basement or an air-conditioned room can work well. You may also keep them in a refrigerator at the highest setting, preferably 42 degrees. Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or near heat sources.

2. Keep the Water Fresh:

   - Change the water in the buckets daily to keep it fresh. Add flower food to the water to prolong the life of the blooms. Be easy on the flower food, especially with Zinnias. They will suck up all of the food quickly and die quickly.

3. Monitor the Flowers:

   - Check on the flowers regularly for any signs of wilting or damage. Remove any wilted or dead flowers to prevent them from affecting the others.

4. Hydration Before Use:

   - Allow the flowers to drink for at least a few hours before the event to ensure they are well-hydrated and vibrant.

5. Minimal Handling:

   - Handle the flowers as little as possible to avoid damaging delicate petals or stems.

By following these tips, you can ensure your DIY Bloom Buckets arrive at your event fresh and ready to create a beautiful arrangement.
