The Growing Kindness Project

Growing Kindness, One Bloom at a Time

In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, there’s something incredibly powerful about a simple act of kindness—especially when it comes in the form of fresh flowers. That’s why we are so honored to be part of the Growing Kindness Project, a nationwide movement dedicated to spreading joy, encouragement, and connection through flowers.

The Growing Kindness Project is built on a beautifully simple idea: grow flowers, share flowers, and encourage others to do the same. Whether it’s a single bloom handed to a stranger or a bouquet gifted to someone in need, these small gestures have the power to uplift, heal, and remind people they are seen and valued. The project is a community of big-hearted individuals who believe in using their gardens—no matter how big or small—to bring more kindness into the world.

For us at Blessings Grow Meadows, this mission resonates deeply. Our journey into flower farming wasn’t planned—it blossomed unexpectedly after my family and I moved to our small farm in Southeast Georgia. What started as my children creating bouquets for visitors soon grew into a much larger purpose when we gave our first "real" bouquet to a dear friend in hospice. She shared that she hadn’t received flowers before, even though they were her favorite. That moment changed everything. We knew then that we wanted to grow flowers not just for beauty, but to give, to comfort, and to bring joy year-round.

This year, I was incredibly honored to be chosen as a Growing Kindness Ambassador. Ambassadors are volunteers who help spread awareness about the project, mentor others who want to start sharing flowers, and support their communities through floral giving. For me, this role is not just about flowers—it’s about building a network of kindness, connection, and encouragement with others who share the same passion of sharing joy through flowers.

Living with chronic illness means I can’t always be as present as I’d like, and I often find myself isolated due to my health. But being part of this community reminds me that even when I can’t physically be out in the world, our family can still make an impact. Through our flowers, we’ve been able to support local nonprofits, hospitals, health centers, foster care events, homeless shelters, and organizations like United Way. The ability to give beauty and hope, even in small ways, is a gift in itself.

To those who are part of the Growing Kindness Project—thank you for what you do. And if you’re new to this movement, I encourage you to join us. Whether you grow a garden full of flowers or just have a few blooms to share, every act of kindness makes a difference.

Do you have plans to spread kindness you would like to share with us? We would love to hear your plans!

Here’s to another season of growing and giving and we are so grateful for your support!

With love and gratitude,
