Tick-No-Stick - DEET FREE Tick Repellent

Sweet Harvest Farms has created a Tick Repellent that is both DEET Free and gentle to your skin. DEET (N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide) is usually the main ingredient in commercial bug, tick and mosquito repellent products.

Duke University has found that “rats treated with just the average human dose of performed far worse than control rats when challenged with any physical tasks requiring muscle control, or coordination. They have also concluded that children are at a higher risk for brain changes after using DEET due to skin absorption.

Another study found that geranium oil works well in repelling ticks. The plant species is Pelargonium x Asperum (Geranium Bourbon) and is derived from a French island. It is also produced in very small quantities and many aroma-therapists claim it can help repel ticks. It is not a guarantee but it will certainly deter the pest!

It is always a good idea whenever coming in from outdoors where ticks might be found, to use a pet lint roller over your clothing changing lint roller sheets often. These will pick up any ticks that have clung to your clothing. The ticks that do the most harm carrying Lyme disease are extremely tiny and can be hard to see, hence the need for lint rollers.

Sweet Harvest Farms has formulated a recipe containing moisturizing ingredients such as organic  Cocoa butter, Shea Butter, Natural Bees Wax and Vitamin E, this lotion also contains Pelargonium x Asperum along with organic Lemon Eucalyptus, Lavender Oil, Peppermint, Rosemary Oil and a touch of Tea Tree (that also works on mosquitos)

Keep any products containing essential oils away from eyes and away from cats. Re-apply after swimming or bathing.
