Freestanding Shade Structure Kit with Shade Cloth

Build a durable, freestanding shade structure for gardens, propagation areas, patios, livestock, and outdoor workspaces. This DIY kit includes galvanized steel hardware, connectors, ball bungees, and black 50% monofilament shade cloth with grommets for long-lasting shade coverage. 

Designed for use with locally sourced 1-3/8" top rail, the structure features reinforced corner bracing for added stability and easy seasonal installation. Optional floor flanges are available for hard-surface installation when ground stakes cannot be used.

Available in both a 10’x10’ and 10’ x 20’ footprint.

Tips for Optimal Use

• Layout: Square your structure carefully before driving ground posts to ensure proper alignment and easier assembly.
• Anchoring: Additional anchoring may be needed in high-wind areas.
• Shade Cloth Installation: Install the four corners first, then tension the remaining sides evenly using the included ball bungees.
• Frame Setup: Use standard 1-3/8" top rail sourced locally for the horizontal frame sections.
• Post Installation: Check posts for plumb throughout installation to maintain a level structure.
• Seasonal Use: Shade cloth can be removed for storage or weather protection when not in use.
